  • maintain and focus on the quality, cost, delivery and production of each area to which you are assigned. ensure that the production areas are supplied with raw materials when required in the right quantity and that the finished goods are transported to the finished goods area, ready for dispatch. responsible for manual mig welding of production parts and/or tig repair of rework parts while maintaining required quality and production standards.

     

    manual welder  the main missions of the role are: oproduce parts by loading and positioning component(s) into fixture(s) using methods/equipment defined in standardized work instructionsoperform detailed dimensional inspection using final gauge, bend gauge, handheld gauges, and other instruments when necessary to determine quality of productoinspect parts and welds visually for visible defects or as specified by standardized work instructionsomove materials, supplies, and/or finished goods to designated places in the facilityorecord and dispose defective product in designated manneropack parts into designated container and record information in line with packing instructionsocheck all safety controls for proper operation at start of each shiftonotify gap leader and/or supervisor when defects exceed acceptable limits or when major equipment malfunctions occuromaintain clean and safe working environment in line with company policyoperform temporary preventative maintenance (tpm) on equipmentoadheres to all work rules and procedures additional responsibilities include:operforming necessary change overs per production scheduleomaintain appearance of equipment and lines by conducting 5soclean/paint equipment, clean/seal floors, paint lines around equipment when line is down or when assignedoimplement two (2) improvement ideas per monthoother duties as requested physical requirementsthe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. ojob involves lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds, exerts 25 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and exerts 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objectsorequires pushing, pulling, reaching, standing, walking, gripping and bendingohigh mental and visual effort requiredowork involves considerable bending and twistingoable and willing to work overtime when required – up to 12 hours a day for 7 days a week safety / hazardsosteel toed shoes always required in shop floor area due to physical hazards from moving equipment, machine parts and productoansi z87.1 standard safety glasses required in production area due to dust, oils and debrisomay be exposed to flying objects such as weld slag and sparksomay be exposed to weld fumes and dustoexposed to moderate burns, cuts and bruisesoexposed to significant temperature changes in the facility – (heat in the summer / cold in the winter)
