this is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience of working in the finance function of a private business. knowledge and experience of highway maintenance is not necessary though if you already have been exposed to cis, applications for payment and the construction industry, then it would be a bonus. you may be full or part qualified and looking for a role with greater responsibility but with the support of an experienced team around you.

we're looking for someone who has the desire, energy, and willingness to develop and learn. you will have one direct report, a very competent accounts assistant along with the support of our long-standing part-time fd.

essential experience and skills

- a head for numbers and being organised

- part or full qualified

- professional manner with good communication skills and a team player

responsibilities

- your principal accountability is to produce an accurate set of monthly management accounts

- the accurate and timely entering of data into xero

- accurate analysis of data for accruals/prepayments, stock posting, job costing, subcontractors, depreciations, crew wages etc

- managing the debt collection process in line with our debtor day targets

- identifying and implementing system improvements

- engaging, energetic with a positive attitude (we don't do negativity)

- proficient use of microsoft office applications and xero

- organised and numbers driven

the role

- full time 9am-5pm based at our head office in swanborough nr, lewes

- salary £30k - £37k per annum
