the quality engineer works under the direction of the quality manager, performing quality inspections, root cause analyses, implementing corrective actions and leading improvement projects.

 

exemplary duties/responsibilities:

l lead and report on root cause and corrective action efforts

l participate in or lead continuous improvement events/projects

l participate in or lead plant equipment repair, improvement, and maintenance activities

l create and maintain inspection procedures

l perform metallographic inspections

l maintain and provide training on inspection systems and tools

 

knowledge:

proficient in reading engineering drawings

proficient with microsoft office suite

preferred skills:

experience with metallographic inspection

solid modeling with solidworks

practical experience with statistical analysis

 

education/experience:

scientific degree (bs or as with demonstrated experience)

experience with a process improvement framework: fmea, six sigma, or other

3+ years of experience with dimensional inspection in a manufacturing environment
