we are currently recruiting for a trainee / graduate quantity surveyor to work with our experienced commercial team in west thurrock.

due to planned growth for the foreseeable future, we have an opportunity for a trainee / graduate quantity surveyor, or someone who is looking for a career in the construction industry and wants to progress to be a qualified quantity surveyor.

this is a fantastic opportunity with excellent career prospects. the role would suit someone with some experience of a qs role, who are either in the process of enrolment at college, or due to complete or recently completed a degree in quantity surveying.

key responsibilities:

handling, control, and billing of work record sheetsprepare billing for day work elementsresponding to customer queriespreparing applications for payment and submission (with supporting documents) to the client as per contract timetableidentifying, pricing, and agreeing changemeasurement calculations from both drawings and on site requiredpreparation of detailed final accountswe welcome applications for this trainee / graduate quantity surveyor role from candidates with any of the following skills or attributes: quantity surveyor, qs, trainee, junior, assistant, admin, building, construction, graduate.

the ideal candidate for this trainee / graduate quantity surveyor role will have a basic grounding in the industry, and a quantity surveyor qualification (or working towards one) along with the desire to progress their career within a construction or commercial environmentstrong ethical valueshighly organised and motivatedgood verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deal professionally with people at all levelsa customer-focused approach to all tasks undertakenability to prioritise workload to ensure delivery is achieved within timescales setcomputer literate, and ability to learn new software packages quicklyplenty of initiative and an innovative approach to problem-solving about company
