family description and location

a lovely european family are looking for a friendly animal loving housekeeper to come and join them. they have 3 older children aged 17, 15 and 12 but the older two are at boarding school. they live in a 6-bedroom house very close to crawley. the house is full of character and has a lovely garden. they are 10 minutes by train to gatwick and 30 mins into central london. their current housekeeper is retiring after 14 years with the family so this will be a long-term role. the family have 2 labradors and a small dachshund , chickens, bunnies, hamster and x 2 shetland ponies who live out all year round in the garden. there is a gardener that comes weekly. it is currently a primary residence, however towards the first few months next year, there will be more time spent in the family’s london property during the week,

the position will involve general housekeeping, cleaning, laundry, ironing, family style cooking (the family like light mediterranean style grilled meats, fish, soups, salads. (you will be given direction and recipes to follow), dog walking, looking after the other animals (the principals are also hands on with pet care) a driver is ideal not but essential

candidate requirements

the candidate must be friendly, flexible, enjoy cooking, loves animals and teenagers. you will also need to be able to work with the gardeners and pa as a team.

days of work, accommodation and salary

• £40k with contract

• 45 hours week

• sunday and mondays days off

• 7am 1pm – 4pm - 7pm with a 3-hour break in the day.

• the accommodation is an idyllic annex which is a separate living space its own with a kitchen, living/ dining room and bathroom.
