adecco medical & science is assisting a top client in the pharmaceutical industry in recruiting for a scientist iii in meriden, ct. this is a 3- month contract assignment.

job summary:

the candidate will be responsible for assisting with the execution of downstream purification experiments with minimal direction from laboratory supervision. in addition, participation in day-to-day operational downstream activities, which includes cleaning, updating, and maintaining inventory, and providing support during daily operations. the candidate is also expected to assist downstream optimization strategies and approaches for recombinant antigens purification.
 

summary of key responsibilities

responsibilities include:
• assist in executing downstream bioprocess operations, specifically iex and hic chromatography, centrifugation, depth filtration, and tff at lab scale
• perform analyses such as sds-page, western blot, bca, and other tests
• document experiments and maintain proper records electronically and in lab notebooks
• effectively communicate results in group and department meetings
• contribute to lab organization, maintenance of instruments, reagent tracking and ordering
• ensure that work performed is conducted in a safe and compliant manner in adherence with sops and protocols
• wash glassware and dsp process equipment
• performs other functions as required or assigned
• complies with all company policies and standard

essential qualifications:

 

basic qualifications
experience with protein purification
• ability to work within team environment and multitasking
• strong written and verbal communication skills
• detail-oriented and ability to prioritize assignments
• ability to work with minimum supervision
• experience working in a lab, general laboratory skills
• maintains a good relationship with co-workers
• fluent in both written and spoken english
• experience in microsoft excel, word and power poin

preferred qualifications:

 

educational requirements

requirements: bs/ms or academic degree in a field of biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or other related disciplines. 1-2 years experience with bs degree or up to1 year experience with ms degree working in academic or industry.
