about the role:

powder coater with preferably shot blasting experience required to work with their current powder coating operative. carrying out pre-surface treatment and final coating of main machine parts and various sub-components which are assembled into the final assemblies of our various machine ranges.

please note the below experience would be extremely advantageous to securing the position, however in-house training can be given to the right candidate who demonstrates a willingness to learn regardless of experience.

ensuring that health, safety and quality standards are complied with, including the specific duties under them. understanding and experience of jig work would be advantageous. work with sheet metal up to 3mm thick in mild steel would be advantageous. work with various sections and plate material (4mm – 30mm plus thick) would be advantageous. highlight and communicate any minor faults which may arise, and which may cause delay to production. ensure work is carried out to tolerances as stated on drawings. ensure all operating conditions are safe and suitable before commencing the pre-treatment and coating process. ensure work area is kept clean and tidy at all times. ensure stock levels are maintained by notifying of any ordering requirements. carry out daily checks of coating booth, curing oven and shot blast equipment to ensure of safe operation pre commencement of works. maintain accurate records of production and any other operational data as requested by the operations manager.

candidate requirements:

have experience in powder coating - advantageous but not essential as in house training can be provided. wet spray application – advantageous but not essential. experience in shot blasting – advantageous but not essential. mechanical pre-treatment process – advantageous but not essential. be an excellent team player with attention to detail, be self-motivated and the ability to work to a high standard whilst working under pressure, being efficient, productive, and meeting production deadlines – essential. have previous factory production experience, especially fabricated weld

assemblies – advantageous but not essential.

have jig work experience – advantageous but not essential. be able to read and carryout instructions regarding pre-treatment and coating process requirements – advantageous but not essential.

qualifications:

time served: city & guilds (or equivalent) – desirable. gcse or equivalent - desirable.

competitive hourly rate: starting salary £12.34 per hour for tier 1. tier 2 £13.20. tier 3 £13.76 hours of work: monday - thursday 08.00 - 17.00. includes 2 x 15-minute breaks and 30-minute lunch break, friday 08.00 - 13.00. includes 1 x 15-minute morning break. contributory pension scheme (once permanent). free parking.
