a lovely family are looking for a live-in domestic couple for their beautiful property near kingham, oxfordshire, ox7. one of you must have a full driving license for this role.

package offered

between £60,000 - £65,000 gross per year for the couple depending on experience.
the majority of the time the property is vacant as the family live overseas full time.
working 5 days a week – monday to friday when not having guests. the candidates should be happy to work weekends as needed with time off in lieu/overtime payment when working weekends.
a separate two-bed cottage on the property will be provided. the family are open to couples with pets.

family background

they are a european family with a property also in london. they visit the residence between 3-6 times per year. this is used as a family country retreat but live abroad most of the time. when they visit they staying a varying amount of time from a week up to a month. the parents have two young children and already employ three nannies, so the successful candidate won’t need to care for them as part of their role. the property is occasionally let-out as a luxury rental when the family are not in residence (maximum of 12 weeks total a year).

duties

the property includes a seven-bedroom, six-bathroom house with four acres of formal grounds. there are no pets in the house. there is also a garage, shepherds hut and vegetable garden. a separate three bedroom annex / two-bed cottage on the grounds. on the grounds is a swimming pool, tennis court and a nearby farmer lets the fields for his own use.

as a domestic couple, one of you will be responsible for the housekeeping/cooking and the other maintenance/gardening duties. including helping guests in and out of the property and deep cleaning it on turn over days.

if one of you is happy to cook this is a bonus, typically the family will bring a chef, so if you don't wish to cook that's also fine. as well as being happy to undertake all aspects of cleaning the house and keeping it tidy on a daily basis and laundry and ironing to include care of delicate fabrics. you will need to shop when required, in preparation for the principals coming to stay or guests visiting.

you will also be required to act as the family’s driver when they are in residence so one of you will need a full driving licence. you may also have to run errands or collect other guests from the local train station.

the successful candidates should have a hands-on approach and be skilled in diy and maintenance tasks. you will have some aspects of gardening, you will be responsible for general repairs and maintenance and the security of the house. additionally, you should be able to collect flowers from the garden and arrange flower displays in the house.

when you are in residence you would be expected to be able to deal with any emergencies which might happen in the property (alarm or utilities) as the residence is vacant for a considerable amount of time.

location/accommodation

the property is located near kingham, oxfordshire, ox7. the family are open to you bringing pets. you will be provided a two bedroom cottage on the grounds will all utilities covered except for a landline.

days/hours

flexibility is required when the family are in residence and overtime will be worked.
any overtime worked will be given back as time in lieu or paid in overtime
40 hours each week working monday to friday

special skills

you should be confident with all aspects of housekeeping, cooking, and maintenance. one of you should have a driving license.
