we're looking for a passionate, committed and motivated leader to be our next head of people and organisational development (od). you will have a track record developing innovative people management solutions to meet organisational goals. you'll also inspire and manage your teams, while working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders to make our vision a reality.

we've moved to a hybrid way of working combining working from home and days at our office in wayfaring house, kendal. you'll be provided with a laptop to enable you to access our secure it network when working remotely.

the role

this role leads on the development of our people - employees, volunteers and members - and the on-going evolution of a vibrant and ambitious culture. you'll be working with diverse teams across the park who have a range of exciting and demanding objectives. the head of people and od sits on the strategic leadership team and you will have the chance to influence the future direction of the park. you'll be responsible for our people and organisation development strategy, and you'll lead our people, volunteering and member service teams, supporting them to deliver exceptional service to managers, employees, volunteers and members.

about you

you will be mcipd qualified with a track record of managing complex human resources issues with a creative and solution focused approach. you may have led teams previously or you may be ready to take your next career step into managing teams. you will be people centred in your approach to all matters.

you will be willing to inspire our organisation development, cultural and engagement initiatives. you will be skilled in providing sound advice to members, strategic leadership team, managers and staff on a range of people matters. you'll also be able to successfully take forward our partnership working approach with our elected trade union (unison) representatives.

your leadership style will be inclusive and compassionate and you will inspire your team and organisational colleagues to move forward towards new ways of working.
