our client currently has an exciting opportunity for an hsqe coordinator to join the team at the site in aldershot. reporting to the health and safety manager with a dotted line to the production manager for quality matters, this role will be responsible for the management of the health, safety, quality and environmental (hsqe) systems across the site with the support of the leadership team, to drive and lead the implementation of the hsqe strategy ensuring and exceeding compliance with both legal and company standards.

key duties of the role include:

health and safety

carry out risk assessments, update as required and consider how risks could be reduced and develop safe systems of work throughout the plantcreate ssow and update as requiredmaintain current production documentation as required, ssow, coshh, risk assessmentsensure all safety and quality records are maintained and are accurateassist departmental/line managers in the investigation of accidents/ incidentsmanage hsqe compliance, ensuring policies and procedures are adhered tosupport rospa awards applicationsupport the health and safety manager in ensuring that hsqe requirements are consistent with uk/corporate standards, policies and uk legislationwork closely with the management team and colleagues to prioritise and manage actions required as a result of risk assessments, hazards and incidents that have been reported and recordedensure plant handover checklists are completed following installation of new or used work equipmentoutline safe operational procedures which identify and take into account all relevant hazardssupport and ensure adequate induction training and information with regards to hsqe is provided to all new startersensure that contractors and suppliers of key services are managed and approved as required by group and the quality management systemsupport the provision of accurate accident/ incident / minor accident and near miss statisticssupport the use of sharepoint entries for recording safety datamanage fire alarm weekly testing with maintenance teamcarry out periodic safety inspections and safety audits to identify unsafe plant, working conditions and practices. to report to the management team on the findings of such inspections and make recommendations for remedying any defects found. e.g. housekeeping, safety and environmental auditssupport/present monthly toolbox talks and any other group/ site informationhealth and wellbeing committee member to minute and support ideas and actionsbe a point of contact when h&s manager not available

quality

maintain and implement new & existing site accreditations such as brc, fsc and esoswork with the management team to prioritise and manage customer expectations and address actions in relation to customer complaints, non-conformances, internal and external auditsensure quality audits and daily checks are carried out regularly.brief crews and production teams on quality issues relevant to them.

key skills & knowledge:

hold iosh certificate or be prepared to undertake this training in the first year of taking up posthave a good understanding of the accreditations and policies (brc, fsc,esos)have good communication and presentation skillsbe able to coach & train othersbe able to manage conflictexperienced in risk assessment completionexperienced in creation of ssowcompetent in ms office products
