for many years they have specialised in on-site servicing and repairs of container handling machinery and heavy fork lift trucks, before opening their own workshop where they now carry out repairs and refurbishment of engines, transmissions or complete machines to a high standard.
they are looking for a forklift service engineer (field technician) to work within their repair and maintenance department to maintain, repair, service and modify all manner of forklift trucks and materials handling machinery up to and including container handling and port equipment.

about the role:
the role involves servicing, maintaining, and repairing forklift trucks and other material handling equipment. on a day-to-day basis this is what you would be doing:
service, maintain, overhaul, fault find and resolve faults on company and customer's products. respond to breakdowns provide after sales support to customers. to deal promptly with customer enquiries, problems, or complaints. to keep control of your vehicle stock/deliveries. achieve agreed targets.
they are looking for somebody who has experience working as a forklift engineer, plant fitter, plant technician, hgv mechanic, or a similar type of role.
skills & experience:
experience in mechanical engineering. basic electrical and hydraulic knowledge would be beneficial. effective planning and organisational skills. able to work on your own initiative. excellent communication skills. build good rapport with customers. full uk driving licence.
this is a full-time position and in return the company is offering a competitive salary, depending on experience and a company vehicle.
