Electrical controls engineer - united states, columbia (tennessee)

our client is looking for an electrical controls engineer to join their team in lebanon, tn! this role will be responsible for the design and development of applications for the products control systems.

the electrical controls engineer will be involved in every step of the design process—from conceptual design to implementation and even provide support once the product is introduced in the marketplace.

 

responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • developing electronic control systems for specific line of products.
  • creating control specifications, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • ensuring that all designs and practices foster a culture of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • testing control systems, experimenting with different components, and generating reports to document results
  • problem solving, troubleshooting and using root cause analysis to resolve issues.
  • working with suppliers to assess components related to control systems.
  • participating in design reviews and preparation of proposals/estimations for project approval.
  • manage projects related to electronic controls.
  • qualifications:

  • bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical engineering, computer science, mechatronics or mechanical engineering with mechatronics)
  • 3 years of related experience; co-op/intern.
  • background in hvac or appliance manufacturing industry a plus
  • experience with:

  • integration and testing of hardware, firmware, and software.
  • pid control concepts
  • single and three phase power transmission.
  • communications protocols such as i2c, spi, rs485, rs232, modbus
  • basic test instrumentation (multimeters, oscilloscopes etc.).
  • cross-platform and native (android &ios) app development.
  •
