we currently have an exciting opportunity to join our transport team in bedford as a transport clerk.

the purpose of this role is to support the transport manager and supervisors through the provision of high-quality, cost-effective transport administration support in line with company and regulatory requirements to ensure whistl continues to deliver the highest quality, most cost-effective offering for its customers.

key responsibilities as a transport clerk:

act as first point of contact within the transport office for customer, driver, and other internal departments, promptly resolving, re-directing, and/or escalating issues appropriatelycalculate, record, and report core and agency driver hours on a weekly basis and process payroll and hr paperworkupdate drivers' hours, holiday, and sickness maintain tachograph analysis records and file them in line with the legislation and ensure all accident forms are completed, actioned, and filedsupport the transport manager and supervisors with notetaking support the recruitment of drivers and transport staff in liaison with the transport manager/supervisors and approved recruitment agenciesassist the transport operation/office within reasonable request/capability including but not limited to assisting the transport supervisor with daily routing and the driver assessor with licence checksensure compliance with all internal and external regulatory requirements, e.g. the mail integrity code of practice, safety, health, and environment regulations, carriage of dangerous goods regulations, and data protection and information security regulationscomply with all health, safety, and environment policies and other relevant regulations ensuring accurate recording and reporting of any incidents, accidents, or near misseswe would welcome applications for this transport clerk role with the following skills: transport, clerk, admin, customer support, data protection, health & safety, compliance, driving regulations, communication, reporting, it literate, ms office, isotrak, data analysis.
