Health and safety assistant - support office - united kingdom, faversham, kent

shepherd neame are looking for a health and safety assistant. the role provides vital support to the health & safety manager who overseas statutory compliance obligations in the brewery and pub estate. this will be achieved through a combination of supporting suitable policies, procedures, systems and training.

the ideal candidate:

you will be a capable assistant to the safety manager with a flexible approach and the confidence to take ownership of key health and safety processes. we are looking for someone who is passionate about promoting and supporting a safety focused culture within the business. finally (and importantly) you will be proficient at multi-tasking and know how to effectively prioritise responsibilities in order to best support your key stakeholders.

skills & experience

friendly and approachable whilst remaining professional in a fast paced environment.excellent communication skills (both written and oral).high level of accuracy and attention to detail.numerate with strong it (word, excel & outlook) and data analytical skills.ability to prioritise and manage a diverse workload.must have uk driving license

responsibilities

ensure all relevant statutory compliance items for the business are reflected accurately on the compliance portal (c365).assist with risk assessments, safe system of work documentation throughout retail estateassist with accident/incident investigation in the retail estateact as a source of help for h&s issues for the retail estatesupport the development and implementation of new h&s policies across the retail estate.attend and contribute to compliance meetingscreate and maintain site h&s files for the retail estateassist with refurbishment & cdm compliance in the retail estateclarify emergency plans in the retail estatedrive a positive h&s culture as well as increasing near miss reporting
