our client is one of the most progressive steelwork fabricators in the uk. with a forward-thinking management team, the company carries out all types of steelwork construction projects. due to company growth, they are now looking to recruit an experienced maintenance manager to join their team. the successful candidate must possess industry experience cnc blasting – drilling and saw machines and ideally be familiar with steel fabricating processes.

main function:

you will be responsible for managing the day to day maintenance of a medium sized fabrication facility, managing statutory and legal requirements of inspections and ensuring the workforce is competent in its operation of machinery and tools.

main duties:-

managing statutory inspections including but not limited to puwer, loler, dsear, lev, pressure and air monitoring, plant & tools and asbestos, ensuring all inspections are co-ordinated with the correct inspection body are passed for compliance and insurance requirements.managing plant & equipment calibration schedules & servicesthe maintenance of all aspects of the fabrication facility, including:

buildings, plant, electrics, gases/compressed air, hand tools, cranes & domestic welfareperforming daily inspections, routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs & stock control of partsmanaging inspection reports, parts requisitions & corrective action reportsensuring all workers are competent in the use of machineryliaising and coordinating with external engineers for specialist maintenance activitiesworking on special projects within the factory to help improve the business

experience required:

time served electrical/ mechanical fitter preferableseveral years previous maintenance manager experiencehold a recognised certificate in electrics city & guilds 18th edition and pat testinghold mewp/ ipaf certificationpasma certifiedmanual handing & slinger certificatemust have experience in fault find and corrective actionsconfident in providing training to machine operators
