we are looking for vinyl/carpet fitters to join our hardworking team, based in east kilbride
no experience needed, although would be beneficial - training can be provided if required so trainees/apprentices will also be considered.
we at step by step flooring offer a wide range of floorcoverings from carpets and vinyls, to high quality lvt and many more, we work with various customers offering both supply and fit services. customers ranging from councils, landlord contracts and walk-in customer to our office. we offer services all over scotland, so distance will be expected.
drivers license not necessary but would be beneficial also.
a work van will be provided, providing a full uk drivers license is held. the van can be taken home at nights and used for personal use as long as it has been cleared. fuel cards are also provided per van. all vans are fitted with fully operational trackers for business use.
day to day you will attend both tenanted and void property's fitting both vinyls and carpets, uplifting of old flooring and moving of furniture will also be expected on certain jobs. areas will vary all over scotland, will not require overnights but late nights on occasions will be expected. working hours will vary depending on the quantity of work scheduled, so early starts may also be expected. full time work guaranteed. weekend work also available on request.
fitters can be an employee or a subcontractor fitter to us, if you are subcontractor, you must be cis registered and utr number must be provided,
rate of pay will depend on experience, fully qualified fitters are on rates worked out by the total sqm fitted on a monthly basis, rates vary depending on the service the fitter carries out, additional pay is provided if underlay is fitted, furniture is moved or uplift has been carried out, the type of flooring being fitted is also taken into account when rates are calculated to ensure accurate pay. for trainee fitters, it is a standard starting salary, and is then reviewed after 3 months. more details on rate of pay will be provided in the interview.
holidays must be requested no later than 1 week in advance due to van allocations.
