we have an exciting full-time position for a supplier relations assistant. this position is ideal for a candidate wishing to establish a career in book publishing.

audiobook and ebook sales are one of the fast-growing parts of our business. gardners provides services for publishers, retailers, corporations, public libraries, educational and academic customers worldwide, providing our customers the ability to offer over 10 million books.

previous experience in digital content or book buying is not essential as you will be working within a team of 40 staff covering all aspects of buying and managing physical and digital publications.

the supplier relations assistant will be responsible for acquiring new products, liaising with suppliers concerning sales opportunities, growth and development of new/existing product lines and services, and liaising with all levels of management both internally and externally.

some of the day-to-day tasks of the supplier relations assistant are outlined below, but other ad-hoc duties may be required:

pro-actively developing existing, new product lines and serviceregularly review sales and supplier termswork in close collaboration with relevant internal departmentsmaintain relationships with existing suppliers and source new suppliers for future productsattend book fairs and trade eventswork with the existing buying team and office to share and cultivate your knowledge of the industryliaise with other departments within the organisation to ensure projects are completedinventory controlthe hours for this position are 9am - 5.30pm, monday to friday.
