due to exciting growth, we are expanding our hr team and as such we are looking for a hr advisor to join us, to support the hr business partners in delivering effective services across the group.

we are a busy and fast-paced department with no two days being the same. you will be a central figure in a talented team based in fulwood, preston and will work with a growing workforce of circa 750 staff, both office-based and remote/hybrid working.

we continually look for ways to develop and improve our hr support and delivery and you will be supporting the wider hr team in implementing and embedding new strategies and initiatives across the organisation.

this hr advisor position is an exciting generalist role which allows you to challenge, change, and make a difference in a growing company.

main role and responsibilities:

provide high-quality hr advice and guidance directly to managers to facilitate the early resolution of difficult, complex, or sensitive employee relations issues, ensuring that the risks associated with such cases are effectively managedadvise and coach managers on the application and interpretation of hr policies and procedures in accordance with current and proposed employment legislation and local arrangements, to ensure consistency, accuracy, and best practicesupport the management of complex employee cases relating to disciplinary, grievance, and sickness absence. this includes providing advice to managers on policy/procedure and legislation, liaising with occupational health, and supporting formal investigations and hearingsbuild good working relationships with all line managers to better understand their needs and provide appropriate hr-related supportact as hr lead alongside managers in the management of change issues, leading in formal consultation exercises and processing information such as tupe due diligence and redundancy calculationsmanage sickness absence in collaboration with managers, assisting staff back to work and working with managers to reduce sickness absence across the organisationprovide updates on key changes to policies/processes/new initiatives and any trends identified in er reportingactively contribute to the development and implementation of new policies, procedures, and practices and review in line with legislation, current best practice, and key group's requirementsundertake continuing professional development including participating in performance reviews and attending training as/when requiredwork in accordance with all relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and guidelines - both internal and externalmaintain accurate and up to date records and reports and provide written and verbal reports as requiredkeep abreast of policy and professional development within your area of professional expertisepromote, adhere to, and live our workplace values of being honest, committed, and inventivethis hr advisor role would suit candidates with experience in the following areas: casework, investigation, human resources, employee relations, advice, hr, advisor.

cipd qualified - level 5 or aboveexperience in a human resources department, with caseload management experiencelove hr, er employee relations, and leading projectsstakeholder management at all levels of a business, comfortable at director levelexperience operating within a commercial business and industry sectorexcellent organisation, interpersonal, and communication skillsexperience of working at pace, comfortable with timelines and deadlinesproactive and self-motivatedstrong it and analytical skills and comfortable using multiple systems at any one timedesirable skillsknowledge of financial services working within a regulated industryknowledge of workday system would be a nice bonusmost of all we look for people who display and work around the core values of our business:
