tjx europe are currently recruiting for a senior financial analyst, within our financial control division, a key position within inventory control with ownership of the region 1 stock ledger. the inventory control team partners across the business, to ensure the accurate delivery of all aspects of inventory including sales, gross profit, mark-on, markdown and shrink.

this is an exciting opportunity to learn more about our detailed business model, with regards to how our inventory is bought, shipped, processed, distributed, and sold in our stores. you will work closely to understand system flows, downstream reporting impacts and retail method of accounting.

integrity and controls are crucial as part of this role, with the area governed by sox guidelines and partnerships with internal audit, it and external pwc partners. there will be focus on learning our sox matrix, assisting with sox testing and ensuring our team remain compliant.

key responsibilities

maintaining integrity for all aspects of the region 1 stock ledger with appropriate escalation of issues

supervision of the daily and weekly stock ledger reconciliations ensuring the drivers of any variances are understood

ownership of the weekly and monthly reporting requirements for region 1 banners

be the point of contact for region 1 analysis requested by the slt and the wider business

challenge existing processes and procedures

ownership of the overall input/output controls establishing the integrity of the stock ledger

accurate accounting of gross profit and the valuation of inventory for the region 1 banners

regular liaisons with the other financial control teams to ensure consistency in reporting and analysis

additional responsibility for the comic relief and other charity campaigns. partnering with csr on break even analysis, reporting on sales performance during campaign weeks, monthly accounting for charity transactions and appropriate review of balance sheet accounts

supervision of a dotted line report (tasks only), assisting them to manage their deliverables, knowledge within them and delivered in a timely manner

playing a key role in the year-end inventory counts of stores and dc. assisting with the review and preparation physical inventory reports.

supporting on the year end audit ensuring all deliverables are provided to auditors
