reed shipping and freight are currently recruiting for an senior operations clerk to oversee an sub team of 2–3 people looking after key accounts in the import operations department in their felixstowe distribution centre.join a global logistics company who manage bespoke solutions for some of the world's best–known brands and specialise in providing freight and inland logistics solutions.
what's involved?
• liaising with port health / veterinary authorities to ensure compliance and smooth processing for fast delivery.• holding regular face to face meetings (either in person or via video call) to ensure the customer has a clear understanding of account performance.• working closely with the senior management and commercial team to grow the department in the core business.• ensure excellent customer service. the ethos is that both our customers and suppliers are "partners".• actioning any non–conformances quickly and effectively ensuring full process review and improvement where necessary.• ensuring the security of all data and compliance for our aeo, brc and iso accreditations.• providing cover for import operations manager during annual leave/sickness
what are they looking for?
• ideally previous supervisory experience within the industry.• customs clearance experience.• experience in handling foodstuffs / reefer / products of animal origin.• strong leadership skills.• able to promote and create a positive and safe attitude with the team.• time management.• ability to work to fixed deadlines.• problem solving abilities.• excellent communication skills both verbal and written.• ability to build relationships with all current and future customers.• strong attention to detail.• flexible and open minded to change• ms office
