role: buildings maintenance coordinator

location: hazel hill wood, grimstead road, near salisbury, sp5 1au

salary: £13,800 per annum (£23,000 full time equivalent)

hours: 21 hours/3 days per week, including thursdays and ideally fridays, plus roughly one weekend per month on call.

holiday: 16.8 days per annum (28 days pro rata), including bank holidays.

contract type: permanent. all new employees undertake a probationary period of 6 months; in which time they are expected to demonstrate their suitability for the post.

responsible to: management team.

job description

the successful candidate will be a core team member and play a key role in keeping our buildings and other facilities in good working order for hosting retreats and other events.

duties will include:

general maintenance of our off-grid buildings – routine work and repairs. this includes heating systems, waste systems and pest management.
undertaking some basic research into technical solutions where more information is needed.
being an active member of our health and safety committee, with responsibility for reviewing building risk assessments and implementing actions. this includes working with the team to ensure we meet legal responsibilities.
collaborating with other staff and volunteers.
supervising contractors.
liaising with and welcoming visitors.
being on call roughly one weekend per month.
keeping organised and up-to-date records.
