residential support worker38 hours per week (full time - 2 sleep in shifts per week)children's residential carebridgwatersalary: unqualified- basic salary of gbp22,372 (gbp11.32) + sleep in shifts (gbp36) = gbp26,740.27qualified- salary of gbp23,581 (gbp11.93) + sleep in shifts (gbp36) = gbp27,949.58randstad are currently looking for residential support workers to join an outstanding young peoples service within bridgwater. this is a permanent role with excellent career prospects and a comprehensive training programme.

the role:

to work on shift to support the home to run efficiently and effectively to a high standard and to ensure that young people are safeguarded at all times. thus creating a homely environment for the young people in our care, taking into account their views, wishes and feelings.to comply with and to have an up to date knowledge of the home's statement of purpose, policy and procedures, all relevant legislation and to promote best practice and maintain confidentiality.to comply with the company's safeguarding policies and procedures which includes whistleblowing and any associated guidance as may be issued from time to time and to report all causes of concern to the nominated designated safeguarding officer immediately, while understanding that the safety of children in our care is paramount at all times and that safeguarding is a key responsibility of every employee of headway.to support effective multi-agency working and positive relationships with all staff, the local community, local authorities, other professional agencies and significant others who are part of a young person's life.to comply with and apply company guidelines on codes of conduct and to set an acceptable role model standard within the home.to assist in the development and delivery of the objectives identified in the young person's plans.to support and complement the reviewing and monitoring process in the development of care planningto be part of the home's key worker system as allocated by the home manager.to play an active part, promote and encourage the participation of young people in the decision-making process of the home and wider community and to provide and/or help them seek information and advice from appropriate sources. the ideal candidate:

any experience of dealing with challenging behaviour, mild learning difficulties or trauma. however they will train and look at adult care backgrounds too.caringpositivewilling to go the extra milereliableorganisedholds full driving licence and has own vehicle (essential) about us
