our client is a well-established global manufacturer of combustion equipment to the petrochemical industry selling products, systems and site services worldwide. their market leading comprehensive product range includes thermal oxidizers, burners, flare systems and pollution control equipment.
the role
you will be responsible for all aspects of purchasing ranging from sourcing new suppliers, contract negotiation and performance managing a diverse supply base.
you will work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure that stock availability is optimized.
to procure goods and materials required for manufacturing and various projects.
maintain and improve margins by achieving lowest total acquisition cost (tac).
review current supply base with an aim to purchase from the best option to maximise company profitability
work to project time plans/targets and lead-times
support quality department regarding new suppliers documentation for the vendor approved list
the candidate
our client is looking for strong purchaser/buyer who has the ability to manage a diverse range of commodities, possesses excellent stakeholder management skills and be a strong negotiator. ideally you will also have a good understanding of mrp systems, international expediting knowledge and a cips qualification - but experience and personality is paramount. you will have experience of buying/purchasing for an engineering/manufacturing company and strong sourcing ability
salary: depending on experience + full package
