a university in liverpool is looking for a mental health practitioner to join their team to support students. this role involves providing face to face support on campus, encouraging students and staff with a mental health support service. working to promote the accessibility of the mental health service provided within the university and help encourage the visibility of the mental advice and guidance that can be delivered by the university.

responsibilities

research & interpret and manipulate data using a variety of systems, analysing and reporting key findings. review and monitor processes, procedures and associated documentation drawing in specialist knowledge, implementing or making recommendations for changes as appropriate. provide specialist advice and guidance in unpredictable situations and enable appropriate solutions. provide guidance, advice and deliver training on specialist activities and associated policies and procedures. success will be measured by student satisfaction feedback and evaluation responses. acts in a way that demonstrates the university's commitment to equality and diversity for staff. students and partners.

requirements

a relevant professional qualification such as registered mental health nurse/ community psychiatric nurse/ social advisor/ occupations therapist/ probation officer and/or substantial experience of providing mental health advice and assessment to vulnerable adults. work experience in a demanding environment e.g. nhs, social work or voluntary sector with clients with moderate to severe mental health difficulties. offering crisis management and suicide prevention / intervention.analysis, interpretation and reporting on data.drawing on professional / specialist knowledge to solve presenting problems. if you thrive in challenging environments while making a positive impact while guiding students who are struggling and guide them to maintain a healthy balance for all their stresses, while also gaining experience in the education sector as well as working on your own time scale then this position is for you.
