Logistics porter - united kingdom, chesterfield, derbyshire
gi group are looking to recruit a temporary logistics porter to work in the calow area of chesterfield, assisting with the unloading and sorting incoming stock in the warehouse and then making the deliveries on foot to departments within a large establishment.
working hours:
monday to friday, 37.5 hours per week and working around the hours of 08.00am - 16:00pm each day.
rate of pay: £9.50 per hour and you will be paid weekly.
please note this role will be and immediate start and and will continue for around 3 months.
duties will involve:
- you will be responsible for assisting with the receipt of deliveries.
- you will be using computer systems on a daily basis and may be required to use a hand held scanner/bar code machine to check stock.
- ensuring you comply with the health and safety of lifting and moving items.
- having the ability to work on your own initiative and work within a set time frame of deliveries
- understand importance of prioritising your workload for the day effectively, in line with service needs.
- having good, clear communication skills as the organisation is a customer - focused environment.
** please note, there is lots of walking involved in this position - you will be on foot throughout the day making the deliveries, so please ensure you are comfortable on your feet for long periods of time **
