adecco is currently assisting a client in recruitment of cooks in stowe, vt.  these are temp to hire opportunities that offer multiple choices of full and part time shifts!  pay rates starting at $17 per hour!

 

job summary: prepares, seasons, and cooks’ soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foods for consumption in eating establishments by performing the following duties.

 

essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

adjusts thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters, and steam kettles

measures and mixes ingredients according to recipe to prepare soups, salads, gravies, desserts, sauces, and casseroles

bakes, roasts, broils, and steams meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods

adds seasoning to foods during mixing or cooking

observes and tests foods being cooked by tasting, smelling, and piercing with fork to determine that it is cooked

carves meats, portions food on serving plates, adds gravies and sauces, and garnishes servings to fill orders

washes, peels, cuts, and shreds vegetables and fruits to prepare them for use

cuts, trims, and bones meat prior to cooking

other duties may be assigned

 

requirements of cook:

ability to use all kitchen equipment in a respectful and knowledgeable way

must attend sanitation classes and keep up to date with all new sanitation standards

well groomed, always demonstrates good personal hygiene

dependable, organized and demonstrates attention to details

ability to work flexible schedule of various shifts to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays

prolonged standing, minimal sitting

various repetitive motions to include but not limited to bending, kneeling, and reaching, and ability to lift 50 pounds

ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
