Team manager - targeted youth service - united kingdom, godalming, surrey

the starting salary for this position is gbp46,634 per annum based on a 36-hour working week.

due to internal promotions and secondments, we are currently looking to recruit two team managers in the targeted youth service:

1 x permanent, full time team manager 1 x fixed term (2-year contract), full time team managersurrey county council's targeted youth support (tys) service supports some of the county's most vulnerable young people to ensure they have the best chance of thriving and succeeding as adults. the service works with young people at risk of offending, family breakdown, homelessness, sexual and criminal exploitation, to provide help at the point when problems emerge; preventing the need for more specialist services further down the line. the tys service also holds the youth offending service function for the county, supervising young people in the youth justice system in surrey.

each team in the tys service has a team manager overseeing a small team of 6 staff. this allows managers and team members to get to know the young people we work with and support each other's work. tys teams are usually based in our quadrant offices and cover a dedicated part of the county.

this post is based in the southwest of surrey, working predominantly out of offices in godalming library and social services.

the role of team manager

the role of the tys team manager is to maintain a firm grip on the team's caseload, ensuring that work is carried out safely and effectively to case management standards and within surrey's effective family resilience model. the team manager is also responsible for managing and developing team members, and contributing to the management of the wider service. please see attached job description for full details.
