Construction cost analyst - united states, nashville

our client offers consulting services that assists owners, architects, engineers, and planners with cost estimating, scheduling/phasing, and program and project management.

responsibilities include are not limited to:

  • assembling estimates in clear and concise formats to fit client needs, including conducting pricing research, developing unit prices, assessing and responding to global project variables, conducting, cataloging, and sharing quantity takeoff, documenting project assumptions, and issuing project reports.
  • assisting in maintaining cost and assembly databases, including ensuring their consistency, keeping data up-to-date, and maintaining accessibility for staff across the company.
  • producing quality deliverables working with both levels of detailed design and planning-level or rom-level documents.
  • training and mentoring others on technical and non-technical topics, sharing knowledge through the company.
  • leading and managing an internal team to achieve project goals on projects, including on-time delivery of deliverables, producing reports which meet company core values and high standard of quality, utilizing and training other staff, communicating project changes or challenges to the company, and bringing the project in on budget.
  • maintaining or assisting in maintaining client relationships and assist in maintaining client relationships through regular client interface, both on projects and through interaction not related to projects.
  • assisting in keeping report templates accurate, and provide input on how they are stored and accessed by staff.
  • qualifications:

  • four-year degree from an accredited institution in construction management, engineering, quantity surveying, or related field, or equivalent knowledge.
  • minimum 4 years’ estimating experience in varied market segments, or equivalent knowledge.
  • proven track record of managing, leading, and creating estimates on projects, including: responsibility for timeliness of deliverables, management of budget, integrating estimate elements from multiple divisions, and professionally communicating with clients.
  • proficiency in basic office software including adobe, excel, word, outlook, and powerpoint.
  • familiarity with estimating software programs such as on-screen takeoff, timberline, mii, or success.
  • proficiency in estimating across multiple formats, including familiarity with csi masterformat, csi uniformat, and knowledge of common terms in estimating.
  • ability to interpret architectural, civil, and engineering drawings and specifications (both at high levels of design and at the planning stage), quantity takeoffs and models, and architectural and engineering reports. ability to transmit this information to others.
  • certification, including ccp, cpe, rics, cep, or pe.
  • experience in the aviation market is preferred but not required.
