you will help a busy working consultant with a complex life-long disability.
the role is to help the client with day to day domestic support, and keep diet and physical therapy on track.
this is a permanent position for the right candidate and based in sw2 in the client’s home.
the client has a dog and cat, so an animal lover is a must.
candidate must be a confident car driver and hold a full-driving license.
a knowledge of nutrition and / or rehabilitation would be an advantage.
about the role:
- drive client (using clients car) to physical therapy in central london twice a week as well as other medical
appointments
- organise food shopping and prepare meals to meet client's medically mandated dietary needs
- manage medication and at-home therapies
- keep a watchful eye on health / condition and pre-emptively adjust food and activity to avoid flare ups
- help take care of small life admin jobs, run errands and complete some housekeeping tasks (tidying kitchen, laundry, ironing)
- occasional cleaning if cleaner is away
- help look after (including walking) the dog and feeding / grooming etc when client is unable
about the client:
this particular disability involves systemic weakness and extreme fatigue, so part of your role is to help minimise physical fatigue by aiding with everyday tasks like shopping, cooking and laundry - enabling the client to expend energy on activities that are vital for longer term wellbeing, such as walking, swimming and rehabilitation therapies.
this condition also causes brain fog and memory issues too - so someone to help to plan, keep things on track and take care of life admin is critical.
