Waste collection pick up driver - united kingdom, dartford, kent

we have vacancies for waste collection drivers and loaders

your main duties will include driving and loading waste containers into refuse collection vehicles, working in teams with other crew members collecting commercial waste all over the uk

or supporting other elements of the operation as required.

you will need to be physically fit and possess a flexible approach, ideally you will have experience of working in a fast moving and high-pressured environment. you will also need to be prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions

you will be able to demonstrate a positive approach to health and safety and be prepared to take on additional training as required, ensuring work is carried out to the highest standards and meets the deadlines required.

you will be flexible with a strong customer focus and be able to demonstrate a desire to deliver high standards of service. maintaining presentation, cleanliness of ppe (uniform) and the collection vehicles will also be a measurable objective.

working hours are mainly early starts (7.00am) monday – friday, with some potential for saturday and sunday working. we have a variety of shift patterns across the week including four day working in some areas. we also operate a group task approach to completing daily rounds and expect teams to work together to in order to deliver services

the successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete six months’ probation, thereafter you will have opportunities to progress along the pay scale through an annual performance review scheme.
