if you're an experienced electro-mechanical design engineer, looking for a new opportunity with a company offering fantastic career progression for the right candidate, then our principle consultant (rt) is keen to talk to you about whether you'll be a great fit. as an electro-mechanical design engineer, you'll be responsible for designing precision measurement systems and test rigs while following the development life-cycle. this will include research, concepts, design reviews, estimating, prototyping, documentation, assembly, and testing. you will collaborate with the software development team, wider business, and customers on development projects. you'll really have a chance to make your mark with the company, who as we've mentioned, are keen to invest in the right candidate for a solid career within the business. key duties & responsibilities work on design projects, following the hardware development process to develop and produce: - hardware design research - hardware design concepts - resource estimates - prototypes - design drawings - design specifications and documentation - test plans take part in and contribute to the review and prioritisation of requirements relevant to hardware design participate and contribute to design reviews assemble, test and review design solutions as part of a controlled iterative design process follow the process for the generation of ip to ensure that ip is created and protected appropriately during development contribute to hardware development process improvement by providing constructive feedback to line management on its implementation manage hardware design projects that are assigned by line management, from requirements through to delivery. desired qualifications & experience strong academic background in electro-mechanical engineering or related discipline at least 3 years experience as an engineer in an electro-mechanical, automation, robotics or metrology role, in an industrial context with hands-on experience in building prototypes familiarity with 3d cad modelling good working knowledge of gd&t experience with precision engineering concepts familiarity with machinery directive and machine safety good awareness of development life cycle and agile development methods familiarity with 3d geometric data and data processing knowledge of programming, preferably in c# fluent written and spoken english ideal candidate attributes attention to fine detail and quality at all times ability to manage and plan work to meet deadlines and respond to changing priorities ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with suppliers, customers and colleagues maintain confidentiality with respect to customer information and our own intellectual property
