if you'd like to join our awesome abantu team as a barista, cook and bottle washer, drop us an email explaining why are you interested in becoming part of our team.we are looking for someone 25 to 35 hrs a week & willing to work weekends and able to work during the hours of 7.30am and 6pm. experience is essential. but please a genuine interest in coffee, baking and cooking is really essential. big smiles and able to work under pressure is a necessary part of your character.
cafe abantu is a busy cafe in the centre of cambridge. we are an independent cafe serving breakfast, homemade lunches along with great fairtrade coffee & tea & an ever changing selection of fabulous cakes.
at abantu we have a fairly small team so you’ll need to be able to handle a variety jobs from barista, baker, food prep and loading dishwasher to closing duties and mopping floors. you will also find yourself manning the till and clearing tables, whilst chatting and be easy to smile with confidence. the ideal person will enjoy cooking, but doesn't need to be a trained chef.
the job does need: - someone that is naturally friendly and engaging with customers - good communication skills and well as a multitasker - believes in "leaning time is cleaning time" but is also happy to work in a hectic environment - food interest is a must - would be capable of opening and closing procedures, and till operation. - maintaining food hygiene to high standard and follows cleaning schedules - barista experience is helpful but not essential - happy to work saturdays and sundays
