are you pro-active, well organised, disciplined and dynamic with excellent communication and diplomacy skills?
we are looking for a high calibre officer to support his majesty's lord-lieutenant of cumbria.
the lieutenancy officer is responsible for arranging visits by members of the royal family to cumbria and providing full administrative support to the lord-lieutenant, vice lord-lieutenant and deputies for all ceremonial duties, honours and presentations conducted on behalf of his majesty the king.
you will lead pro-active public communications, online and offline, on the role of the lieutenancy, queen's awards, uk honours and national initiatives.
you will be educated to nvq level 4 or be able to demonstrate equivalent relevant and appropriate knowledge, skills and experience. you will have a good understanding of local government or the public sector and possess excellent ict skills, including the use of microsoft applications.
working as part of the council's wider corporate communications team, as a lieutenancy officer you will be able to work on your own initiative and be able to prioritise workloads and have the enthusiasm to ensure the delivery of successful outcomes for the lieutenancy, the council and the county of cumbria.
this is a high-profile role and will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside a range of people both within the royal households, cabinet office and other local and national agencies.
