we are a family run farm looking for an individual to help with the running of the dairy herd milking 300 organic cows in a split block system autumn and spring. cows are housed in the winter then grassed as much as possible. recent new track infrastructure and new cubicle housing done over last 2 years with more improvement planned in the future. the parlour is a 18:36 swing over which recently had auto id and feed yield system added. heat detection collars also have been purchased and are here for the start of serving for the autumn block to help improve heat detection. going forward the farm looking to improve in all aspects with hopefully looking to expand
we are looking for a progressive person to work alongside the family who can work as part of team and on their own. willingness to get stuck in and be part team
the job will be
milking
record keeping when needed
cleaning and maintaining the milking parlour
treatment of diseases e.g. sick cows, mastitis, lameness, etc.
calving supervising, assistance
vet visits pd, treatment
assisting with other parts of the farm when needed
accommodation is two bedroom house on the farm.
