Duty officer / business administrator - united kingdom, maidenhead, berkshire

optalis are the provider of adult social care services for wokingham borough council and the royal borough of windsor and maidenhead council. we are not a private provider or an agency provider. we are owned and funded directly via the council.

we are looking to appoint a duty officer to join our short–term support and rehabilitation team. the team is vibrant, committed and works towards a common goal of promoting the independence of residents of the royal borough of windsor and maidenhead. the service assists to facilitate earlier discharge from hospital, prevent hospital admissions, or support someone in the community who would otherwise be unable to remain at home safely in a crisis situation. the team comprises of occupational therapists, physiotherapists and rehabilitation assistants working in the community to support residents to achieve or regain independence.

as the duty officer, you will be the first point of contact for staff, professionals and customers, managing the requests for services, changes to support requirements and dealing with on occasion distressed customers. you will manage a dispersed workforce, allocate and co–ordinate the work of rehabilitation care assistants and carry out customer quality visits in the community to ensure standards are consistently met.

in order to succeed you will be highly organised, with excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to use your initiative. experience in the health or social care environment, particularly in care at home services is desirable.
