responsibilities are to program all new job using solid works and master cam, write job setup instructions and routing sheets, setup new jobs, and order tooling as required. inspect “first piece”, consult with quality assurance, and inspect work pieces through the production run for out of tolerance machining. oversee departments preventative maintenance effort. oversee other employees work in department on all shifts. other duties include: set up/operate cnc milling machines as needed. load existing programs, adjust operating parameters and perform quality checks. perform related work as required.

basic duties and responsibilities:

program new jobs using solid works and master cam

setup cnc milling machine as required.

work safety to prevent injuries and follow all safety guidelines.

observe machine operation to verify accuracy of machine settings and to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance machine, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometer and dial caliper. adjust machine to control part process.

work on teams to troubleshoot manufacturing and/or quality problems.

exercise special care to ensure the machine is running correctly to avoid machine damage and produce highest quality product.

perform preventative maintenance of equipment

qualifications:

able to program using solid works and master cam

strong working knowledge of g & m codes as well as subroutine programming

interpreting complex blueprints and work instructions

math skills: geometry and basic trig, use calculator

7 year or more experience in a metalworking manufacturing environment or completion of cnc training at the community college level

familiarity and ability to set up, program and operate haas, fanuc and/or fadal cnc machine controllers

strong working knowledge of tool offsets, speeds and feeds for cutting various materials.
