live-in carer needed to support my mum to stay living in her flat in central solihull. she needs personal care and hoisting but each day enjoys going out in her wheelchair and is getting stronger slowly. we have great support from current live-in carers and other long-term carers who come to take her out and give the live-in person a break.

my mum has some early dementia as well as memory loss due to a stroke she had 50 years ago but despite this is a fun, sociable and friendly person. she is weak due to having severe covid last december that has left her unable to stand or walk.

cooking and light housework are part of the role. must be able to use a hoist and be calm and confident.

important qualities are experience of providing personal care to someone who is in need of personal care, kindness, a good listener and someone who enjoys banter and has a sense of humour.

our needs flexible in terms of days are changing. we have two current carers providing support but need a third. initially it is a weekend role from friday 11th november at 7pm till sunday 13th november at 7pm (two full days), then every weekend on the same shift until (and including) the weekend starting friday 16th december. if you can only do some of these dates please still get in touch as others can likely cover. from january we would need two or three weekends per month plus some sunday-to-friday (five-day shifts) each month. it’s a live in role and the flat is absolutely lovely and in central solihull right by the high street and park and there is a parking space available.
