Cost accountant - united states, sierra colorado

adecco search is currently recruiting qualified candidates for a direct hire cost accountant role in arvada, co for our client, a reputable global manufacturing company. the cost accountant requests for financial information and provide timely information on plant metrics in addition to assist with jde issues senior cost accountant is a highly visible role with responsibility to ensure accurate product costing and inventory accounting.  support department managers, supervisors, and inventory control team.

job duties & responsibilities

monthly manufacturing close, related entries, and analysis.

account reconciliations as assigned.

perform standard cost rollups daily in jd edwards.

support annual physical inventory.

review, audit, and prepare reporting for cycle counts.

support analysis of excess and obsolete inventory and complete related journal entries.

manage reviews with operations team and management for excess and obsolete inventory.

review manufacturing work order and performance variances daily and reconcile monthly.

daily review of integrity reports for jde transaction issues.

review and analysis of other manufacturing variances (ppv, scrap, etc.).

knowledge of manufacturing variance analysis is required.

intercompany inventory reconciliation and reporting.

partner with purchasing, inventory control, and mfg engineering team to provide guidance on jde related inquiries and transaction resolution.

other duties as required by the controller or cost accounting manager.

skills & abilities

must be a self-starter able to perform independently as well as part of a team.

must have strong working knowledge of cost accounting and inventory controls.

a strong accounting and or finance background.

intercompany accounting experience a plus.

strong knowledge of quantitative analysis and problem-solving skills is required.

excellent communication skills

computer - excel required

jd edwards (highly desired), sap or oracle erp experience.

qualifications

bachelor’s degree in accounting highly preferred or equivalent.

minimum 3 to 5 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in an industrial manufacturing

environment.
