our business, which is a catering butcher, has over 100 years' experience in the meat and farming industries. all products are prepared in the factory daily to each customer's specifications, packaged and labelled to and above legislation, and then delivered direct throughout the uk.

the main purpose of this role is to ensure the effective running of all aspects of the dayshift operation.

the purpose of this role is to ensure the smooth day to day running of all aspects of production as detailed below:

key responsibilities of the factory manager include:

to prepare and plan the production for the whole factory, including meat cutting, poultry production, portion control, burger and sausage manufacturing, together with the mince and dice productionto meet kpi targets both agreed and set with the general manager and operations directorto liaise daily with the technical departmentresponsibility for a full costing and yield programme by departmentto report to weekly management meetings on all aspects of the production performanceto liaise with individual team leaders overseeing any production issuesto work with the sales and new product development team on menu development ideasto work to and deliver agreed budget targets for costs and head countsto administrate holiday shift patterns in accordance with company policy ensuring that all necessary cover is in placeto liaise with hr regarding timekeeping, absences, complying with the company absence procedure and policy, discipline, and grievances we would welcome applications for this factory manager position from candidates with the following skills: manager, factory manager, operations, production, packing, leadership, training, coaching, production manager, factory, time management, teamwork, supervisor, hr, kpis, reporting, communication.

essential skillsno formal qualifications are required for this role and full training will be provided however it would be advantageous if you have management or supervisory experience in an operations or production, and fast-paced environment, and significant experience supervising or managing staff.

you should have the ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environmentability to lead from the frontability to develop good working relationships with managers in other areas of the business, to deliver the common goals of the business in terms of profitability and provision of agreed service levels to customerswillingness to embrace change and develop skills within your teama strong commercial understanding of the businessdesirable skillsexperience in the food/meat industry would be advantageous for this factory manager position.
