about the role

we are currently seeking a qa inspector to play a key role at our potatoes, sweet potatoes and onions site in westry, cambridgeshire. this is an excellent opportunity for a conscientious and autonomous quality assurance inspector to join the team.

the ideal candidate will be both a natural communicator and a logical problem solver; with a high level of accuracy to ensure the product delivered meets all food safety, legality & quality requirements and consistently supplied to asda at all times.

a strong team player to support their own and the wider teams with the ability to multitask when required.

you will complete product inspections to ensure product & packaging is in line with food safety, legality & our customer specification and complete a full quality assurance inspection of materials and products arriving on site.

you will complete accurate checks and qa reports without impacting the operation and interact with the site operations to ensure compliance is being maintained at all times.

involved in the daily due diligence checks in order to maintain compliance of brc requirements you will also be involved in the fast track positive release of products to depot.

skills and experience required:

you should have previous qa experience working in a factory environment (preferably in a fresh produce environment) and knowledge/experience of working with haccp, brc and red tractor requirements.

with adequate it skills, you should have the ability to utilise microsoft tools such as powerpoint, word, excel. with basic food hygiene certificate you should be educated to gcse level a,b or c (or equivalent) in maths and english.

you should have the ability to work and remain calm under pressure, be self-disciplined and possess good time management skills, along with a desire to develop and grow beyond this role.

about the site

westry is our cambridgeshire based potato, sweet potato and onion packing facility. there are a number of support roles on site with the majority of colleagues working within our operation.
