description of the companywe are working in partnership with one of our companies who deliver patented advanced pressure management technology which enables water companies to optimise the performance of their water distribution networks. the technology extends infrastructure lifetimes, improves customer service, and significantly reduces operating costs, energy consumption and wasted water through bursts and leaks. the company has offices in malaysia, spain and colombia. customers include south east water, affinity water (formerly veolia water), severn trent, yorkshire water and anglian water in the uk, as well as hundreds of water networks across asia, europe, the middle east and southkey duties & deliverables work as part of a dynamic, innovative, agile team environment and contribute to the team's continual improvement assisting in initial feature design, helping to shape requirements. contribute high quality software artefacts suggest extensions/improvements to functionality where appropriate strive to automate tests where possible and establish the tests within an overall continuous integration (ci) environment any other duties commensurate with the tasks and responsibilities of the role a desire to solve difficult problems for real users excellent attention to detail commercial awareness, considering the cost/benefit of changes to the software an ability to solve problems creatively with an analytical approach a willingness and ability to create and adapt to new technologies always striving to ensure quality standards are met, and both internal and external customer expectations are exceeded organised and methodical approach ability to work under own initiative develop strong working relationships with other departments and customers understand how their own performance relates to company objectives positive outlook with a high level of motivation, energy and drive to "make things happen"
the skills/experience can be summarised as follows:
bsc (or higher) in a computing or scientific/engineering discipline, or equivalent demonstrable experience. 3+ years commercial web development typescript react.js – functional components and hooks bootstrap unit testing desirable
