nelson and colne college group is a beacon for educational excellence, made up of a family of colleges - nelson & colne college, lancashire adult learning & accrington & rossendale college. our college group is now the only further education college in lancashire to be graded as 'outstanding' under the new ofsted inspection framework.
together the group forms a sixth form, skills and technology centre, university centre, employer training and adult learning provider delivering exceptional teaching and learning to all ages and at all levels.
the exciting role
a new and exciting opportunity has become available for a full time he curriculum leader for engineering & sustainable technologies. the area is in growth and has plans to expand its offer to meet the needs of our east lancashire employer base and beyond. programmes running in the area are validated by ljmu and the university of cumbria with whom the college has excellent partnership relations.
this role also comes with the following remission:
cl: 200 hours (across two sites) rip: 70 hours the successful candidate will be required to travel across sites.
what you will be doing:
teach up to a maximum of 540 hours annually, modelling outstanding practice across the subject areas of engineering preferably with a specialism in materials science, manufacturing and/or aerospace. lead on the further development of higher technical qualifications with a specific focus upon engineering, construction and sustainable technologies. work with the dean of he and the director of academic standards to ensure teams comply with all college quality processes. this will include; regular 'in-year' programme and assessment reviews, validations and audits, liaison with heis and/or awarding bodies, external examiners, moderators, a range of assessors and verifiers (where appropriate), and the full implementation of the college quality system what we are looking for:
a degree level qualification in a relevant subject recognised teaching qualification or a willingness to achieve this within three years of appointment a higher degree or post graduate qualification (desirable) fellowship of the hea or a willingness to pursue on appointment (desirable) experience of implementing, monitoring and reviewing quality assurance procedures to ensure continuous improvements in performance experience of / ability to carry out the role of moderator/he programme leadership what we offer in return:
