they are now looking to recruit a junior sous / sous chef to join their busy kitchen.

about the role:

this role is in arguably the best culinary kitchen in the local area, as part of a team demonstrating the very highest standards of food quality. this role requires working alongside the other senior chefs and reporting directly to the head chef, to assist in all aspects of a busy, fresh food kitchen team.

they have undergone the introduction of new chef rota patterns that provide a great work life balance for all their brigade. their chefs work a maximum of 43 hours a week and they try where possible for their brigade to work a maximum of two nights a week.

candidate requirements:

assist in setting and maintaining all standards and the introduction of new systems. supporting a large chef brigade. ability to follow all food safety, h&s and hygiene standards and help introduce new initiatives. exceptional food quality standards. high food preparation standards. high presentation quality with a full fresh food menu. working as part of a large brigade. ability to work in a tidy, organised a clean environment. positive attitude. ability to work on all kitchen sections. good listening and training skills. a desire on continue to learn and develop. provide assistance with menu development. the ability to help motivate a team and create a great team spirit. a role approach that never compromises standards. the ability to adapt to an ever-evolving monthly menu change. a constant passion for great food. work closely with the foh team. help introduce new operational and safety standards. experience in a similar role is required. the role requires the applicant to live within a reasonable commute location or to re-locate.

salary:

£30,000 - £34,000 (depending on position and experience), plus £2000 in additional income. the company also have systems in place for reviewing salaries (upward only), on a regular basis and this is performance driven.
