we are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable candidate to join our hard-working but fun ductwork company. established 27 years ago ductwork direct holds a prominent position in the manufacturing sector and can offer as many hours work as the candidate wants. normal working hours are 8am-4pm but there is overtime available until 6pm monday to friday and often weekend work as well.
the role the candidate will take on: predominantly operating our plasma cutting machine. it is not a hard machine to get to grips with at all! they just need to be able to load the metal sheets onto the bed of the machine, set the machine to cut and then label the parts and take them to the skilled guys in the workshop to form the products we make. all of these roles can be learnt quickly and safely in the factory (where the candidate would be permanently based) and there are skilled workers that the candidate can always speak to for advice and guidance. if the candidate enjoys the role and picks these basic skills up then the company will be more than willing to teach them the manufacturing process and let them take on more advanced roles within the factory.
being able to drive would be beneficial but not essential for the role as it would mean the candidate could also help out with deliveries if we become stuck (that happens occasionally).
wage would be approx £10.50 per hour but is negotiable depending on how well the candidate takes to the role and extra money would be paid for overtime.
