to work with a man with a spinal injury and his family within the family home and in the community.

i require support with all aspects of daily living at home and with social and leisure activities. the position involves moving & handling and support with all aspects of personal care as appropriate, household tasks and assistance with shopping, driving, gardening, diy, etc. a clean driving licence valid in the uk is essential and applicants must be reliable, flexible and fluent in both written and spoken english. you should be friendly, approachable, discrete and trustworthy; a good sense of humour is desirable. patience, reliability and good physical fitness is a prerequisite as you will be required to assist with moving and handling. non-smoker required.

this post is part-time comprising either:-

1 x 10 hour day shift (7.30am – 5.30pm) and 1 x 14 hour evening + sleepover shift from 5.30pm – 7.30am (waking sleep-over 11pm – 6am); or

2 x 10 hour day shifts (7.30am - 5.30pm).

working days will be negotiable, will include some weekends and will be assigned on a monthly rota. additional hours may be available following a successful probation period. the rate of pay is £10.45 per hour weekdays, £12.55 per hour weekends and £9.50 per hour for sleep-over.
