Early years practitioner required for outstanding nursery in queens park brighton - united kingdom, brighton, east sussex

we are looking for qualified enthusiastic practitioner to join our outstanding team.

the practitioner must hold at least a level 2 childcare qualification.

after completion of a successful probation period then a £500 bonus will be given.

the practitioner’s key responsibilities include:

to work as a member of the nursery team ensuring the smooth day to day organisation and operation of the nursery.
maintain that all children attending the setting, aged 6 months to 5 years receive high quality care, are kept safe and receive stimulating play experiences which meet their individual needs.
to work within a culture of continuous improvement and to support the nursery team in ensuring services are of a high standard.

main tasks/key responsibilities:

to take an active role to develop and deliver a play based curriculum and follow the eyfs to meet the differing needs of children and enable their individual potential to be released.
to ensure that all records are regularly updated and maintained.
to be a key person for individual children and maintain accurate records on each child to satisfy the requirements by parents and other early years agencies.
to liaise with the senco and eyp to ensure children’s individual needs are met.
to prepare healthy snacks and supervise mealtimes.
to supervise children at all times in the setting and on outings and ensure that all safety recommendations are met.
to build and maintain effective communication and positive relationships with staff, parents, carers, families and relevant professionals, whilst respecting appropriate confidentiality.
encourage parental involvement in the nursery.
to be alert to issues of safeguarding child protection ensuring that the welfare and safety of children attending the nursery is promoted and safeguarded and to report any child protection concerns to the room coordinator using safeguarding policies and procedures and practise.
to monitor supplies of children’s play materials /resources and to report any short falls to room supervisor.
to participate in regular supervision meetings with the room supervisor.
to undertake any agreed and relevant training and attend regular team meetings. to maintain health and safety standards, reporting any defective or dangerous equipment to the room supervisor immediately.
to work within the companies policies and procedures.
to work in accordance with the nursery’s equality and diversity policy.

additional relevant information:

it is in the nature of the work that tasks and responsibilities are in many circumstances unpredictable and varied. all staff are therefore expected to work in a flexible way should the occasion arise and carry out tasks that are not specifically covered in their job description. these additional duties will normally be compatible with the regular type of work.
all staff are expected to continually develop their knowledge and attend training for professional development.
dbs: the post is subject to checks from the disclosure and barring services.
probationary period: all posts are subject to a 3 month probationary period.
