as a leading south west uk msp for sme's we are seeking a leader to take control of this established & highly successful company to develop the portfolio, ensure strategic growth & deliver value to the shareholders. focussed on a broadly segmented sme market across the south west, m4, wales & midlands, this globally recognised technology service provider currently operates to a £3m budget and can demonstrate a prominent reputation in the managed services sector.

the successful candidate will be expected to provide direction and control for the execution of the strategic goals as well as directly overseeing operations, sales and finance functions with a hands-on approach. they will lead the formulation of strategy with the board and develop business plans in support. decision making autonomy to ensure that ownership and accountability can be exercised will be a critical part of this engagement.

key responsibilities

- embracing proven methodology along with an established us peer group to deliver world class profitability and customer success (travel to the us integral)

- managing the sales engine and meeting with prospects to develop and win new business opportunities

- preparing annual business plans, monitoring and reporting progress to measure achievement against the objectives set out

- financial ownership of budget forecasts and monthly management accounts prepared by the fd and monitoring target achievement

- developing marketing plans and strategies to promote products & services

- monthly board reporting to establish a continuing assessment of company measurement against targets

- provide strategic advice and guidance to the owners and members of the board, maintaining awareness of industry trends, economic development or legislative demands

- develop and maintain customer relationships to provide assurance and acting as an escalation point

- develop and maintain research and development initiatives so that industry insight is capitalised upon, and that competitiveness is maintained

- take control of negotiations with customers, suppliers and other partners for the development of the most effective contract terms

- ensure that compliance with all h&s and other statutory regulations and standards is maintained, that processes and practices are fit for purpose and that ownership is clear

knowledge, skills & experience

- a proven record of success with an msp at a senior level in a general, commercial or operational management role with strong leadership capability

- at least 10 years' senior level experience of people & resource management

- a degree qualification or equivalent

- a broad knowledge of the msp industry, financial management and general management principles as well as good commercial awareness

salary £75k - £100k plus profit bonus. future equity possible. flexible working arrangements, private healthcare, company pension contributions, 25 days annual leave plus statutory holidays + company car allowance.
