land and estates manager - renewable energy location: alloa, scotland (remote/hybrid working available) salary: competitive climate17 are pleased to be partnering with greenpower, a leading independent renewable energy company, developing, constructing, owning and operating wind, hydro and solar power projects across the uk. greenpower are a well-established company, comprising of a growing team of highly experienced industry experts, with a proven track record of success. due to the ongoing growth of the company, greenpower are currently seeking to appoint a land and estates manager responsible for acquiring and delivering land agreements for renewable energy developments. this position requires someone with specialist knowledge of negotiating and drafting competitive land agreements, a focused and organised approach to negotiations and experience of renewable energy projects and a commercial understanding of business needs. responsibilities deliver robust land deals that enable renewable energy projects to progress and close deals in a timely manner taking a lead role in delivering land rights and any associated matters meticulous electronic recording of discussions, noting issues and seeking resolution as they arise representing greenpower professionally, establishing and maintaining good relationships with landowners, tenant farmers, land managers or others who own and manage land to ensure they are well informed of developments and progress liaising with and managing the work of in-house and external lawyers and accountants attending any necessary consultations and meetings with stakeholder groups advising greenpower how best to manage our land assets, ideally including environmental responsibilities and obligations providing professional advice on how emerging renewable energy regulations and practices may affect land strategies familiarity with and able to understand farming and forestry economics and regulations staying well informed on all issues affecting the countryside and keeping up to date with new regulations that are likely to affect land use requirements skills and expertise ideally degree qualified in an appropriate subject (rural surveying, estate management or a relevant discipline). chartered surveyor status, in a general practice or rural estate would be an advantage. experience and an understanding of the energy markets and issues pertinent to the valuation of land for renewable energy projects you will have a thorough knowledge of all aspects of land management and real experience of negotiating and concluding land transactions. previous land surveying experience ideally in utilities excellent negotiating, influencing, presentation and communication skills able to interpret maps and landforms and collect and present information in a logical and organised manner; ability to work effectively and positively in a team environment comfortable dealing with business-to-business transactions, as well as business-to-customer transactions attributes excellent and effective time-management and ability to manage multiple projects excellent written english and report writing skills good mathematical abilities proficient with microsoft word, excel and power point drive and determination to ensure projects are delivered. a full driving license and your own vehicle will be essential. about us climate17 is a purpose-led, international renewable energy & sustainability recruitment firm. we provide specialist talent acquisition services to organisations seeking to reduce their environmental footprint, as well as those working towards the decarbonisation of the energy sector. inclusive application process climate17 is committed to creating a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace. we believe there is no solution to climate change without people. we aim to increase diversity across all areas and as such, we are committed to partnering with clients and candidates to create an inclusive and sustainable regenerative world. we welcome applications from all qualified candidates, regardless of their ethnicity, race, gender, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, age, or whether or not they have a disability. if you require additional support, equipment, or resources to participate in the job application or interview process, please let us know
