Lead planning engineer - united kingdom, aberdeen

planning engineer we seek 2 experienced planning engineers with an extensive background in primavera p6 planning suite. company description: we are a leading independent energy service company offering complete asset life cycle expertise across subsurface, wells, engineering & construction and operations. main purpose of role: to provide planning services to engineering, procurement, construction & commissioning contracts / projects. maintain planning systems to enable project management and control to be effective. key duties & accountabilities: preparing and scheduling detailed plans as instructed by the projects team or client. roles to suit various levels of experience. ensuring schedules are in alignment with the approved project work breakdown structure. developing project plans for bid submissions. creating and managing project baselines. facilitating interactive planning sessions as required. development of weekly and monthly planning reports in line with specific client requirements. monitoring progress, booked hours, earned value, baseline variance, critical path, and productivity through all phases of the project lifecycle. developing and evaluating histograms & s-curves as requested by projects team or client. administration and assessment of project change control; revising and adjusting schedules to reflect changes in the project. advising project team on management of change, schedule impact and re-baseline requirements. liaising with engineering, procurement and construction functions, and others as required, including third parties, to maintain awareness of project activities, their status, and their impact on the project schedule and manpower requirements. liaising with cost discipline to provide accurate and timely control and forecasting of manhour budgets. understanding of contractual remuneration terms and conditions. understanding of cost and analysis reports. delegate and manage the work of junior project controls staff as required. knowledge & qualifications hnc in business related discipline and/or suitable industry experience. knowledge of project management principles. knowledge and experience of engineering and construction projects in the oil and gas industry, preferably in both onshore and offshore environments. skills & experience extensive experience of primavera p6 planning system. computer literate and proficient in microsoft office applications. ability to investigate and interpret data. self-motivated. ability to be responsive and open to changing circumstances. good interpersonal and communication skills. strong attention to detail. good organisational skills. ability and commitment to complete tasks within set deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude
