we are looking for an experienced butler for a private household in kensington, london to work on a rota of 7 days on and 7 days off.

you will work within a fully staffed property for a hnwi. your role will be to take care of the front of house service, liaising with the chef and principal on daily menus, serving food and beverages (formal and informal table service), maintaining the organisation and cleanliness of service areas, assisting with the set up and organising private dinners and events at the property, greeting and welcoming the principal’s visitors, maintaining inventories, ad hoc errands for the principal.

you will be contracted to work 7 days on and 7 days off on a 12 hour shift pattern. the family would like some flexibility to travel during the school holidays.

the ideal candidate will have 5+ years of formal experience working within a fully staffed private household as a butler, be service orientated, highly discreet and be flexible and adaptable in approach.

the exact salary offered will depend on qualifications, skills and previous experience.

daily duties for the role will include;

receiving guests to the property
accepting deliveries and contractors to the residence
change-over and upkeep of table services for breakfast, lunch and evening meal
managing and supervising the creation and upkeep of floral displays and table arrangements
serving food and drinks, ensuring proper service at all times
storing and preparing wines correctly
silver service and butler service as required
upkeep of silverware, china, and glassware
be 'on call' and available for the principals when in residence
maintaining household inventories
overseeing the service team during private dinners and events
flexible to travel internationally when required

to be considered for this role you must;

be eligible to work in the uk
have a valid passport
have excellent contactable references
have 5+ years of experience working as a butler within a formal private household
possess (/be willing to get) an up to date dbs check
